Services

I offer a range of services to schools (and the auxiliary teams that support schools) to develop a restorative approach that puts relationships at the centre of everything: strategy, culture, development, communication, conflict-resolution, teaching and learning. I generally start with the adults before working with children and young people. Scroll down to see an outline of how I can help.

What I can do for you

How I work

I start with the adults. This is important so that I can get as much ‘buy in’ as possible before anything happens with young people.

Beginning with the senior leadership team, I move through the school using a variety of activities to explore:

  • How can this approach support high quality teaching and learning?
  • How can this way of working re-energise staff?
  • How this approach can build, maintain and repair relationships at all levels

Then we move onto the development of skills and attitudes in people. High quality training takes place that is designed to provoke meaningful transformation of practice.

  • Staff understand better how conflict arises, how it cycles and what their conflict ‘style’ is.
  • Staff are more able to recognise when their buttons are being pressed and what to do about it.
  • Staff are more able to work together to resolve problems.
  • Staff have a shared language by which to talk about and resolve conflict.

Next, we produce – together – robust policies and procedures to embed practice. We’re getting ready to share this new way of working.

We’re ready to involve children and young people – what does restorative look and feel like to them? What can we learn from them? What do they think of the policies and what needs to change in light of their input?

How can young people be restorative champions for themselves and other young people?

Now we can start involving our community. Together, we carry our quality stakeholder analysis and engagement activities to share with the community what a restorative way of working means for you and the school.

Not sure what you need, or what it costs? Get in touch so I can find out a bit more of what stage your team or school is at with restorative practices, explain what services might be right for you and tell you more about my fees.
